Qualification and Experience Raquel Vélez received her Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). She has worked in the robotics field for over 8 years in the US, Germany, and Italy. As the Chief Technology Officer of Escúchame, Inc., she oversees the company’s virtual community of Smart Latinas (http://escuchame.org). Ms. Vélez passionately advocates for technology, education, and community leadership. In her spare time, she volunteers as a robotics advisor, travels around the world, and enjoys cooking, eating, and learning new languages.
